Front End Developer Average Pay in Utah $78,015  May 2021 
Students work with clients and often start working for pay during the 4th quarter. The average class combined income during the 4th quarter is between $6,000 - $7,000. Students can work as an entry-level junior Front end developers or work as Freelance Developers after completing the high school program.

SLCC Art 2440 Web Design 3 credits Intro to Programming with HTML & CSS
Web Capstone | Partnership with Code to Success and Bottega
HTML5 -Microsoft Certifications HTML5 & JavaScript Specialist |additional Certifications are available. 
UX/UI Quality Assurances
Internship 40 hours with a business client (Transportation is not required) 
 

Program Description:

Design and develop websites and HTML5 apps using HTML, CSS, JavaScript.  Node JS and Python are available for highly motivated students. Learn about Internet technologies, network infrastructure, and web authoring. Students will build and maintain websites for clients, and complete an internship with a web development company. Courses in this program may be taken concurrently with SLCC: Art 1080 Photoshop & Digital Media (4 credits), and Art 2440 Website Design (3 Credits) USU Credit is available through Code to Success (3 credits).

 

Program Expectations

Students will be required to study for industry certifications. Students must follow Jordan District’s Network Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for internet use, and the extended privileges form for the JATC. Design and develop responsive websites,  Apps, and Games using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Get to Know Melinda Mansouri

Instructor:

Melinda Mansouri

Melinda Mansouri is creative, innovative, and
goal-oriented. She enjoys design work and
solving problems using technology. She has
been teaching for 26 years for Jordan School
District. Melinda has been teaching in CTE for
the last 15 years in the subject areas of Digital
Media, Game Design, and Web Design. Her
hobbies include sewing, dancing, traveling,
digital scrapbooking, cooking,  and reading
(100 pages per hour average). She recently
celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary, and
has three children Hope 16, Max 14, and Ty 13.
Melinda’s favorite color is pink.
